The Vigour Projects Health-Music Grant:

The Vigour Projects Health Music grant will be seeded with a $1000 grant from Vigour Projects. The grant will be given to one selected public secondary school located in a high cardiovascular risk neigbourhood in York region. The neighbourhood will be identified through public sources. For example, the highest rate of diabetes is in the Central West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN). The money will be used to support an after-school music program where the students will compose next year’s Meatless Music 4 Mondays theme song. This will allow kids from the school to compose the next ‘cool hit’ which contains some heart-healthy messaging. The winner of the song contest will be given recording time and profiled and promoted to the masses. Each year, a new school will be targeted. We welcome contributions from other partners so this award can grow. Vigour Projects will contribute $1000 annually to the Vigour Projects Health-Music Grant. The Vigour Projects Health Music Grant will spawn the future generation and allow for a grass-roots health promotion health-music initiative for years to come. Each year, Vigour Projects will acknowledge a celebrity who has had the greatest influence on health through music.
