Contest Details:
Submit your original music and lyrics to Vigour Projects for a chance to win Best Original Music and Lyrics!! The song must contain lyrics that promote a heart-healthy lifestyle and behaviours. The song can be any genre. Whether it is funny, serious, or heartfelt, the only rule is that you must be creative! Note that it does NOT have to be radio quality. Each song submission costs $5, the majority of which will be donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the remainder will cover the costs of the judging panel.

Why Meatless?
Available evidence has shown that survival rates are strongly correlated with an individual’s daily consumption of fruits and vegetables. No other food group is as strongly associated with survival rates as are fruits and veggies.
Why Mondays?
Monday is the day of the week associated with the highest occurrence of heart attacks and sudden cardiac death. Learn more.
Why 4?
The Food Pyramid, developed by the US Department of Agriculture recommends 3-5 servings of vegetables and 2-4 servings of fruit per day. Therefore, everyone should eat approximately 4 servings of fruit and 4 servings of vegetables per day to stay healthy!
Why Music?
Music exerts its effects on health in multiple ways. Music has been shown to reduce stress, improve learning skills, and shape behaviour. Health messaging can be much more effective in engaging the public when done through music composition.
